  These dogs are wonderful healthy dogs they truly care about each and every dog they sell.I have been out there many times to visit Bentley parents. The love and pationate they have for there labs. I recommend them to everyone.

  I purchase a "started" dog from Top Dog Retrievers in October 2017. A started dog is one that has been trained in basic obedience for which you are charged a premium for this service.
  
  I have 4 major complaints about TDR. (1) they sold us a dog that was ill, not just sick but seriously ill. We drove several hours to get our 7 month old puppy. When we returned home, we took her to the vet to have an exam. She had multiple illnesses (Giardia, a foot fungus, and her teeth were decayed and rotted - requiring some of the teeth to be pulled). Note: this is a 7 month old puppy. So far we are out of pocket about $2,000. to date for her treatments.
  
  Complaint #2 They sold me an untrained dog. For the first month the dog eliminated anywhere and everywhere until we got her trained. She would not sit, stay, or heel on command. She would not go into her kennel or lay on her bed on command. On walks she pulls and jumps on anyone who approaches. At home she was afraid to enter any doorway and would jump on people and furniture. Our puppy clearly wasn't trained. FYI Francisco told us that she was trained using a shock collar which I think made her more anxious and scared. We hired a professional trainer who told us that our dog had minimal if any training and that the using a shock collar to train an animal has been proven to lead to pour results for animals. We paid $1,000. above and beyond the cost of the dog and received an untrained dog.
  
  Complaint #3 - We received a dog that isn't to the standard of a Labrador Retriever. When I was inquiring about her I asked how big will she get. Francisco said she get to be between 60-65 lbs. - a normal sized American Lab. According to AKC, female labs have certain height and weight standards. She is slightly smaller in height but significantly lighter/thinner in weight than a Labrador Retriever should be, which makes me question if she is a pure bred Labrador Retriever. When we got her she was 35 lbs.. 4+ months later we have managed to add 5 pounds to her frame. Our vet says she'll max out at 40-45 lbs. She is a full 1/3 smaller than the Lab Standard. Is she a Lab mix? Where are the papers that allows us to register her with AKC.
  
  Final complaint - The owners of TDR have managed to completely disappeared and take no responsibility in addressing my concerns. I initially worked through Francisco, who I was told, would bring my concerns to the owners. After numerous attempts to have Caleb or Toby (the owners) contact me to discuss, I asked Francisco for the their phone number. He told me that he couldn't give it out without the owner's approval. No approval was given. NOTE. Most of their phone numbers have either been disconnected or they are blocking my phone number. It appears that they are not living up to the lease regarding the numbers of animals allowed on the property. I was told by Francisco that they have over 100 dogs on site.
  
  I have asked a local TV news investigative team to intervene. They have spoken with the owners (funny Caleb will speak to an Investigative unit but not me) who say they will "gladly" reimburse us... but they haven't. They keep coming up with excuses, delaying and stalling. Several times they have told the TV people that we have spoken and worked out a solution. Caleb, just to be clear, your wife nor yourself have ever spoken to me. We don't have any solution, your haven't done the right thing and addressed the issue. You've blocked my calls or had your phone disconnected. Francisco acts as your gate keeper. You have over 100 dogs on site and as far as I can tell, you aren't licensed by any legal authority. It appears you are running a puppy mill. You will gladly take everyone's money but you won't take ownership for the product you sell.
